Don’t let a typo choose your installer.
An APK is an Android package. A Quest listing is a different distribution path. A page using “Huss Baboon APK” may be describing a repost, a clone, or a file that was never verified by the game developer.
Use this decision rule
| If you have… | Use… | Do not use… |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S, or Pro | The Meta store listing or developer site. | A phone APK page that claims to unlock Quest features. |
| An Android phone | Only an official Android listing that the developer links from its own site. | “Mod APK”, “unlimited coins”, or survey-gated downloads. |
| A file from a Discord or itch.io repost | Verify the post, publisher, version, and checksum with the owner first. | Installing it just because comments say it works. |
Red flags that end the check
- The page claims “official” but does not link to an official developer or store page.
- The download is hidden behind a “human verification”, notification prompt, or password-protected archive.
- The file requests unrelated permissions, asks you to disable security, or includes an unknown launcher.
- The page promises a mobile port while the official description only names Quest headsets.
- The download URL changes domains several times before the file starts.
Our stance
This guide does not scan or redistribute files. A safe answer is sometimes “we cannot verify this file.” That is more useful than turning a search visitor into an unintentional malware tester.
Need the game? Start from the official entry guide, then check the listing’s developer, device support, version, and privacy policy before you install.
